  1. I'm wondering which phone is better for gaming? You state that the S6 generally handles tasks better and faster, but I have seen some videos showing the M9 to be often smoother when playing labour intensive games. Just wondering if you did lots of gaming on both devices?

  2. "The one M8 was a great phone but that was last year". In fact HTC killed his flagship. Sense isn't the most beautiful interfaces and Lollipop demands to be beautiful and colorful.
I have the One M8 but even so far i wouldn't chose the One M9 as my new daily driver. Looks like Samsung is rising from the ashes again.
    Good review chap.

  3. I agreed with most of your points, however……

Touchwiz is now "flawlessly smooth" ! I'd have to disagree a little with that. I agree that things have improved a great deal, but you can still get a smoother experience with other devices. My Nexus 5 manages to maintain 60fps more often than the S6. Compare the S6 side by side with an N5/6, and the difference is noticeable. Scrolling down my Instagram/G+ feeds was far less stuttery on my Nexus devices. During the most recent episode of This Week in Google, there's a shot of Leo scrolling down his Google Now feed on an S6 Edge, the amount of lag and dropped frames was veryyy noticeable.

Now, i realise that a lot of people won't notice or don't care about the occasional dropped frame or a little lag here and there, but it bugs the hell out of me! "60fps" was a buzzword at I/O last year, and it kinda shows. Stock Android is pretty damn smooth these days. I have no issues with OEMs modifying/skinning Android, but not when it has a detrimental effect on performance!!! I wish they had a Google Play Edition S6, i'd buy it in a heartbeat!

  4. @techcap- lots of positive comments and reviews of the S6. but heard and read from several users and reviewers that the UI isn't that flawless. despite making TW definitely lighter and smoother, lags and bugs do occur
