— Best Smartphone Camera for Video 2017? Galaxy S8 Plus vs iPhone 7 Plus vs Pixel XL! —

The Samsung Galaxy S8 just released, with Samsung promising one of the BEST smartphone cameras for video out-of-the-box. But several flagship phones have already staked their claim as having the ‘Best Camera on a Phone’, including the iPhone 7 Plus and the Google Pixel XL!

Samsung Australia was kind enough to send us a brand new Galaxy S8 Plus, and I’ve been using it as my daily phone ever since (sorry Pixel XL). But as far as the video camera is concerned, we wanted to put the (arguably) 3 BIGGEST phones head-to-head to see which smartphone camera came out on top for video!

  1. I just returned the Samsung S8 plus because the curve edge of the screen was affecting my vision for some reason and I couldn’t focus. The camera was everything you said it would be as well but I can’t use it. sigh Now to figure out if I should upgrade at all or just keep my iPhone 7 Plus…

  2. The iPhone 7/s will be replaced in just a few weeks. The Galaxy is brand new. Why not wait until the two brand new releases can be compared head to head? Admittedly, I don't know when the Pixel was released.

  3. Justin I have a quick question if you have the time. I have a lower end phone and was thinking about getting a upper end phone just for the camera/video capability. However would I be better off keeping the low end phone and just putting that money into a good point and shoot? If so what would you recommend… Thank you for any help.

  4. I sold my S8+ to go to an iPhone 7. Just been on holiday and I'm not disappointed with the iPhone 7 at all. In fact it's amazing! But for Video at night my S8+ was miles better.

  5. But.. the pixel and iPhone have separate optical zoom lenses, you're buying it for that extra detail when zooming in on a video, I think you underestimate that
And iPhones stock app is really bad, the exposure jumps instead of being smooth, and several other issues are present that can be avoided with the 3rd party camera apps

  6. Another great review Justin! Does the S8 have a mic jack or does it require a dongle like the iphone 7? I'm still partial to the iphone 6S only because of the abundance of apps especially for LIVE streaming, that and how seamlessly you can transfer video to a macbook pro. Unless Apple brings back the mic jack my next upgrade may in all likelihood be the Galaxy.

  7. Cough! Samsung! Zoom! Grains? XD it's 2017 and s8 when zoomed just is shit! The 7 plus with it's telephoto you can do.more and more! And the saturation in the s8! Is Samsung thinking that people are gonna shoot movies everyday😂😂🤣🤣
From mkbhd to many YouTubers confirmed i7 plus is the best so far in video!
